Liddell was considered a first-round prospect by many back in 2022, but injuries led to him falling to the 41st pick and missing his entire rookie year. He hasn’t played many real minutes in his two healthy NBA campaigns, but has proved to be a defensive stalwart in the G League and Summer League.
The Nets two-way trio turned in strong performances in last night's loss to the Trail Blazers. Chaney Johnson scored a career-high 17 points, knocking down two threes and adding a couple of putbacks off offensive rebounds. Tyson Etienne scored a season-high 15 points, hitting three threes and going 6/6 from the free-throw line. E.J. Liddell added four points, six rebounds, and three stocks.

Johnson grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded four stocks, while Etienne knocked down three three-pointers and added two steals.

The Nets have rarely used their two-way players this season. In last night's blowout loss to the Pistons, Tyson Etienne, Chaney Johnson, and E.J. Liddell each played at least 12 minutes. Etienne knocked down two three-pointers, Johnson had five points, and Liddell grabbed two rebounds and dished out three assists.

Following the waiving of Tosan Evbuomwan, Brooklyn has picked up another power forward on a two-way deal. Liddell comes to the team after spending 2024-25 with the Chicago Bulls. The Illinois native, who was drafted in 2022, has two full NBA seasons under his belt and could get the biggest opportunity of his young career with the Nets. Congrats, E.J.!
