Harper hasn’t shown much of anything in his three NBA seasons, playing just 11 total career games and averaging 2.2 points. However, he’s been a G League star, and the Celtics are clearly fans of him. This could be his break-through campaign.
With the Celtics missing Payton Pritchard and Jaylen Brown being ejected in the second quarter, Ron Harper Jr. stepped up in last night's loss to the Spurs. He scored a career-high 22 points and knocked down a career-high six threes. Harper Jr. also scored 11 of his points in the fourth quarter.

The NBA announced the participants for the 2026 Rising Stars challenge tonight. The G League roster features four current two-way contract players (Ron Harper Jr., David Jones Garcia, Alijah Martin and Tristen Newton) as well as one G League player (Sean East of the Salt Lake City Stars). Former two-way players Cam Spencer and Ajay Mitchell will be suiting up for Team Sophomore.
Ron Harper Jr. and Jalen Bridges combined for 13 made threes today in Maine's game against Salt Lake City in the G League Winter Showcase. Harper Jr. finished the game with 29 points, while Bridges had 28.
Following the waiving of RJ Luis Jr., Boston has inked a two-way deal with Ron Harper Jr., who was on their training camp roster. This will be Harper's fourth season in the NBA. Congrats, Ron!
This is Boston's second straight year bringing in Harper Jr. for training camp. If the team chooses to not convert his contract, he'll join the Maine Celtics, the G League affiliate he spent time with last season. The Celtics don't currently have an open two-way slot.
