The G League roster features four current two-way contract players (Ron Harper Jr., David Jones Garcia, Alijah Martin and Tristen Newton) as well as one G League player (Sean East of the Salt Lake City Stars). Former two-way players Cam Spencer and Ajay Mitchell will be suiting up for Team Sophomore.

    Houston has agreed to a two-way contract with Tristen Newton. Newton was a second-round pick in the 2024 draft and has been dominating the G League this season, averaging 26.7 points for the Iowa Wolves. Congrats, Tristen! To make room for Newton, the Rockets released Tyler Smith, another 2024 draftee who signed his deal in early December. Smith will likely draw interest from rebuilding teams across the league.
